Debbie Alagen, born in 1997, lives and works in Geneva. Her practice combines painting, sculpture, writing, installation and performance, and focuses on symbols that bridge the private and public spheres, mental images, bodies, places and transient situations.

Debbie Alagen contributed an installation-based and conceptual piece to the E19 exhibition, which combines everyday objects, symbolism, writing and bodily experience.

Graphite is her primary medium; her works oscillate between the micro and the macro, heaviness and lightness, emptiness and density. She regards drawing as a space for independent research and invention.

Florance Plojoux is exhibiting 19 works in graphite at etage 19, in which spaces and objects emerge from dense layers of lines and tones. Her approach emphasises process-oriented, free drawing as a medium of thought in its own right.
