Michel FR, the artistic name of Michel Cotting, was born in Fribourg in 1976. Following teacher training and a diploma in graphic design from the School of Design in Biel/Bern, he works as a visual artist, graphic designer and teacher. His paintings and drawings are characterised by offbeat humour, expressive figures, bold colours, fragments of text and large-scale mural and live-painting projects.

At étage 19, Michel FR is presenting the project “Quand je me suis réveillé ce matin…”, in which texts by Christian Schmutz are combined with drypoint engravings on old milk cartons. The work playfully explores linguistic boundaries, visual humour and printed narrative.

Sygrid von Gunten, born in Germany in 1948, has lived in the Biel/Bienne region since 1970. She works in painting, sculpture/object art and textile art. Her work is characterised by a process-oriented approach to materials: for example, she shreds invitation cards to create objects, or cuts up and weaves together painted canvases. She is known for her series *Bluetenrausch*, which focuses not on realistic representation but on creating from the memory of what she has seen. Her studio is in Biel/Bienne; she has exhibited at the Cantonale Berne Jura and in various regional exhibitions, amongst others.

Sygrid von Gunten brings a painterly perspective to the group exhibition – works that straddle the boundaries between canvas, object and material, in which memory and process-driven transformation become visible.

Mich Hertig is listed on the E19 map and in the Culturoscope announcement as part of the group exhibition. External sources also mention the name Mich Hertig in the context of film and editing; no definitive personal artist website was found for this import.

Mich Hertig took part in the E19 group exhibition from 1 to 4 June 2023. Culturoscope explicitly refers to Mich Hertig’s Instagram account for an insight into his work, without mentioning a handle in the crawled text.

Lis Kocher, born in Bern in 1942, lives and works in Magglingen. Since the 1960s, she has been developing a body of work spanning painting, drawing, object art, lithography and books, which combines biographical traces, physical signs, surreal, pop-inspired imagery and questions of visibility and inner constitution.

Lis Kocher brings a distinctive perspective, shaped by history, to the exhibition: works of painting and drawing in which memory, bodily gestures and a poetic sense of self-positioning interplay between figuration and abstraction.
